Frequently Asked questions
do you take insurance? what is the fee for therapy?
Cultivate Therapy is an out-of-network provider meaning that we don’t accept insurance directly but we can provide statements for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Payment is due at the time of service and most clients pay with a credit card on file. Cultivate Therapy has a number of dedicated sliding scale spots, please inquire for availability and eligibility. The fees per session are as follows:
Individual Therapy - $150
Couples Therapy - $160
How long are the sessions? how do we meet?
Sessions are 45 minutes, online or in-person (see locations). Our online platform is integrated into your browser, on your computer or phone. Online therapy works best when you have access to a quiet, private space free of distractions. I also recommend that clients leave room in their schedules before and after online therapy for relaxation and integration.
In order for therapy to be most effective, I recommend (and in some cases, require) that couples join online sessions from the same physical space.
What are the first sessions like? What do we do?
Our intake session is dedicated to getting to know each other. We build upon the discussion from our initial phone call of what you’re dealing with and what you hope to improve through this process. In the first few sessions, I’m guiding an exploration of the many factors that may be contributing to your distress. This includes one session that’s devoted to family background and personal history. From there, I share some observations and support you in articulating goals for our work together. These goals will help us know how work is progressing and when it’s time to wrap up.
